Leveraging Netopia's extensive data router development experience, the 4541 employs state-of-the-art silicon and software technology for optimal performance. ADSL enables a business to take advantage of existing plain old telephone service (POTS) phone lines to support broadband DSL services over the same line, enabling the service provider to more quickly provision the copper local loop and avoiding delays when additional lines are installed. The 4541 ADSL Router provides asymmetric bandwidth of up to 8.192 Mbps downstream and 1.024 Mbps upstream which is ideal for small and medium business, telecommuter and SOHO environments where fast Internet download speed is a key requirement.The 4541 ADSL Router cost-effectively combines powerful business-class features and ease-of-use. Equipped with a built-in firewall and secure VPN, the 4541 delivers all the advanced features that a business needs for a secure, reliable, and high-speed Internet connection.Powerful data routing features make shared Internet connectivity simple and easy. NAT support offers the convenience and economy of using a single IP address provided by the ISP, while the integrated DHCP server automates IP address assignment for connected computers. A built-in firewall protects a network from would-be intruders. Stac LZS data compression ensures optimal performance for data traffic over the link to the ISP.

Summary: small business router is perfect 2004-03-20
Comment: We run a small business that uses 3 computers and a common printer. We nedded a good, reliable router so we could all be on the internet at the same time and print from the same printer.With this perfect low cost solution, we installed our own small business network and haven't touched it since installation. It is the best investment money we have spent on our business so far! Highly recommend this product to all homes and businesses that want a good stable network solution.
