Airlink101 AR675W 300Mbps Wireless N Green Router

I have the AR670W and was looking to move it to be an access point elsewhere in the house. I loved the router, cheap and reliable, so I thought this AR675W would be better. Wrong. I spent 4 hours one Saturday morning trying to figure out why, despite firmware upgrades, hard resets, tweaking firewall settings, etc., that neither my PS3 nor my Xbox3 would see any of my media servers. Rhapsody, Windows Media Center, PS3 Media Server - nothing could penetrate this router. I tried an older router I had sitting around, and everything worked fine. I tried e-mailing Airlink customer service but received no reply at all. Finally I bought a comparable TP-Link router (TL-WR841N) and I had it up an running with no problems in less than 5 minutes.

If you weren't trying to serve media to set top box type devices, you might never know about this problem. Or maybe I just got a bum unit. But life is too short for me to have even spent the 4 hours I did trying to figure this out.

The Quick Installation Guide was excellent. Up and running in about 10 minutes. Full bar coverage around the 2 1/2 story house running .g wireless. All the devices are currently .g. But we plan adding a few .n devices later and convert to all wireless LAN soon.
We replaced an older AR525W (extended range) that was upstairs in order to ensure full coverage. It died after several years. We tried this one on the first floor far end of the house near the cable entry in the study where it was easier to monitor. We were leery of this one after reading some reviews and checking AirLink diagrams. We spent some extended time testing the excellent full bar coverage. We were expecting some dead spots so we left cabling in place to move it upstairs if we had not gotten such good coverage...Read more

I did not expect an inexpensive router to work this well. The instructions were clear, setup with the cable modem easy and it works great within the house. I have 2 computers sometimes working at the same time and don't have any problems with speed or dropped signals. Since I've had problems with some other routers that cost more, this was a good buy for a product I was just checking how it worked.
