Received this router, set it up with the same SSID and password as my previous router, and most of my devices were able to connect without having to reconfigure anything.

Configuration of the router was quite simple. Here are the pros and cons:

Pros:
1. Easy to set up password, left wireless channel selection to auto, etc.
2. Multibeam technology - spreads the signal well around the house. Can even use with my portable devices and laptop in the backyard (router in the den, so 2-3 walls away)
3. Self-healing technology (though this is suspect, as it seems to consist of telling the router to reboot itself at a certain day & time). Product description claims some kind of analysis to find the clearest channel (I did configure it for auto channel selection...many routers now have that option).
4. Many different devices connected - D-Link wireless print server, desktop PC running Vista, laptop running Windows XP Professional, laptop running...Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy Install and Excellent Performance, April 1, 2011

The first thing to know about the Belkin N300 wireless router is it takes little more than plugging it in to have it up and running (although the software is needed to change the default password). It comes with a network cable to connect to your cable modem and four conventional LAN ports for legacy devices using non-wireless connections. The wireless connection works out of the box and the performance is very good. I was able to connect a laptop, Kindle, and Nintendo DSi without issue. For those without much of a computer background, it makes an excellent choice given its ease of use.

I work with technology every day at the library. I have even taught classes on computer uses...but I don't have a lot of confidence when it comes to networking.

My father gave me his old WiFi Router(a Linksys WRT54GL). It worked well enough, but my blackberry didn't like to connect to it and the PS3 came nowhere near connecting no matter what we did...I even got Dad to come over to monkey with it. However, my laptop would connect from anywhere in the house.

I got this as a replacement...and it is amazing! I don't think I have had any electronic device with an easier set up. Plug it in. Connect the computer. Insert the disc. Done!

I used the WPS set up with the Blackberry...and it connects automatically at all times now. I entered the PSK into the PS3 and it connects every time I turn it on.

And I'd swear the connection is faster too on the wired connection and the laptop via WiFi (probably my imagination). I couldn't be happier. We've only...Read more
