router works great as an "N" router. Good reception and speed also, the onboard confurations are very nice (let you configure a lot of settings....as nerdy as you want to get). Lets get to why its a 2 star router.
1. If you are purchasing this router its more than likely becuase you wanted to avail yourself of the sharing feature of this router to share a printer or usb hard drive. as easy as it was to do belkin did not permit the router to be used as a print server or network attached storage device. instead you have to load software on each computer that you would like to use your newly networked device with (IE every computer that you want to print from must have this software loaded. Huge inconvenience especially if you have a work laptop that you bring home or a friend brings a laptop over.
2. The software is "POOR" as another reviewer mentioned. on a laptop often time we just close the lid, well this software is not smart enough to kill itself while the lid...Read more

I bought this on Black Friday 2010 for $29.99. The price was great and the router came with one USB port. I use a USB hub to connect two devices to the router: a laser printer (Brother DCP-1000) and an external hard drive (Western Digital 1 TB). I tested both devices by printing a one-page document while watching a 700 MB .avi file. They both worked fine.
Unfortunately, I do not own any wireless devices that use 802.11n standard. I thought my laptops and Droid X would benefit from a wireless router that broadcasts on b/g/n, but the performance and range were no better than when I was on my wireless G router (Netgear WGR614).

I have always liked the "plug and play" simplicity of Belkin routers. However, this one required a fireware update immediately and even that did not improve the speed. It's supposed to get 300 mbps, yet it only got 65. My old router, which is still fine, gets 150. I am very disappointed and will return it immediately. I have decided that I will keep my 2 year-old router.
One more thing regarding the firmware update: You have to locate the little insert in the box regarding the update to actually perform it. If you simply go to your ip address and search for updates, it will say that there are no updates.
