I'm by no means network savvy, but for basic internet browsing, e-mail, streaming movies, from a cable modem, this router is wonderful. I'm quite surprised, the firmware setup is easy to use as well. This price can't be beat. I bought this for my college apartment. If I ever need another router, it will be a D-link.

I will recommend D-link to others.

I tried 5-8 times to use the user-friendly setup system by logging into the router and going through the wizard. After the wizard was done I could see the wireless network but could never connect to it. Though I'm no expert, I have successfully set up wireless routers several times before. I finally found a site (wish I could remember what it was) that walked me through installing a different firmware. After getting the new firmware installed and working, the router is great. It has great signal strength, and has never disconnected me.

I bought this as a gift for a friend and I tried it out myself but the dlink software is too "dumbed" down for me and it kept disconnecting and reconnecting so I looked around and downloaded DD-WRT which is a custom firmware that I use in another router and I love it!!! With the DD-WRT firmware it is reliable, fast and easy to use once you set it up. Anyways its a great router with an awesome price.
