Linksys' Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Broadband Router is actually three devices in one box. First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect to the network without wires. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. Finally, the Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection.
Summary: Works great!!! Thanks to DD-WRT!!! 2010-09-02
Comment: Immediately after getting this router today I installed DD-WRT without even testing the default firmware. This works great and router is cheap also. I did not need an $80+ router for my needs.
Thanks for the other reviewers for their reviews on this router which helped me decide quickly.

Summary: this is junk 2010-09-01
Comment: This is the most unreliable piece of electonics I have ever purchased. First off it keeps locking you out of the website by changing login procedures or passwords. Originally I had to use customer support telephone to get it to work. That lasted about a month. Now it disconnects my cabled computer and broadcasts nothing for the wireless to pickup.
It is the most complicated setup I have ever encountered.
Obviously this company has zero quality control and lack of credibility in "ease of setup" wording.
This item has a negative value as it fouls up the computer it should not even be interacting with.

Summary: Worthy Inexpensive Upgrade 2010-09-01
Comment: I will echo the feedback of other reviewers here: This router is junk until you update the firmware to DD-WRT. Once that's done, you'll wonder why you have to spend over a hundred dollars for a decent router.
The bad news is it seems getting an upgradeable version (Broadcom chipset on 1.0 or 3.0) is a roll of the dice. Also, if you don't feel comfortable enough with networking hardware (you'll hear "30/30/30 reset" a lot), I suggest going the easier route (buy a different router).
I used this link to do my upgrade:

If you get Version 2.0, you're out of luck and stuck with a 30-dollar junk.

Summary: 5 stars for DDWRT, not the router!!! 2010-08-30
Comment: Now I have proven to myself that those reviews about the utmost necessity of DDWRT firmware upgrade is the absolute truth and nothing but the truth. Without it, this router is a junk. The upgrade process itself is easy, the most difficult part actually is to make this router connect to the internet in the first place(without DDWRT) so you can do the upgrade. In my case, it took me three gruelling late night sessions trying to have an internet connection stable enough to go through the upgrade process. My first two sessions, I was able to achieve a connection(after countless attempts)that got me halfway through the process only to disconnect when it's almost done. Eventually, thru sheer perseverance and some miracle, I got a connection that was barely stable to sustain the three-minute upgrade process. Once I realized that the upgrade was successful, I saw the light at the end of the tunnel and I knew that that was the beginning of the end of my miseries. It's good that Linksys was selling garbage for the price of garbage, it's a grace from heaven that DDWRT is turning garbage to gold - for free.
Thanks for the other reviewers for their reviews on this router which helped me decide quickly.
