Product Description
The Linksys WRT110 RangePlus Wireless Router is really three devices in one box. There's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect to the network without wires. A built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch connects your wired-Ethernet devices together. The Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection. The Access Point built into the Router uses smart antenna technology to achieve extended range. The Multiple In, Multiple Out (MIMO) technology actually uses these reflections to increase the range and reduce dead spots in the wireless coverage area. The robust signal travels farther, maintaining wireless connections much farther than standard Wireless-G. With MIMO, the farther away you are, the more speed advantage you get. The RangePlus Wireless Router can dynamically enable this double-speed mode for compatible devices, while still connecting to other wireless devices at their respective fastest speeds. To help protect your data and privacy, the Router can encode all wireless transmissions with industrial-strength 256-bit encryption. It can serve as your network's DHCP Server, has a powerful SPI firewall to protect your PCs against intruders and most known Internet attacks, and supports VPN pass-through. Configuration is a snap with the web browser-based configuration utility. With the Linksys RangePlus Wireless Router at the center of your home or office network, you can share a high-speed Internet connection, files, printers, and multi-player games, and run media-intensive applications at incredible speeds, without the hassle of stringing wires.

Summary: Pretty Good, Sleek design 2008-11-29
Comment: I was excited when this was dropped off this morning. I originally had a wireless modem from my local phone company and it was horrible. I would lose my connection constantly, I would have one or two bars at the other end of my house which is only one story and about 1200 Sq feet. Set up was a breeze for me. All I did was turn off the wireless for my old modem hooked the WRT110 to it then ran the setup disk. I am now getting 4 to 5 bars at the other end of the house as a am writing this review. Now when watching Netflix on my 360 I am getting Excellent quality. The router software interface is a little confusing but once you tinker with it it will become very easy to use.
Bottom line for an inexpensive router the WRT110 is well done. The range for me is great and easy to use. 4/5 stars

Summary: Terrible support experience 2008-11-25
Comment: I bought this router for a home network; Everything worked fine for about 1 day. Then all sorts of strange, intermittent problems began to arise. I contacted support, was told I needed a higher-level tech, waited forever, then was told by the tech that this model had "issues", that I could not use a password-secured network with it, and I could only use on computer at a time, and I had to disable any firewall for it to work. She seemed amazed that this arrangement was not acceptable. She hung up on me after an hour of troubleshooting. I called back, spent another 90 minutes with a different "high-level" tech, who abruptly told me he had to go and would call back in 5 minutes. The call never came. So, after nearly 4 hours on the support line, I ended up just having to return the router anyway. I have never had a more frustrating tech-support experience, and would not recommend Linksys products for this reason....

Summary: kinda tricky, but... 2008-11-23
Comment: I have a mac mini and just figured I'd be able to pick up the wireless signal without having to configure anything and all that blah blah. It seemed to work for a while but then some security stuff swithced on and BAM no more internet. I called linksys customer service, and Rhoda was AWESOME. She was super polite even when I was becoming a little confused. So, "mad props" to linksys, don't be afraid to call them for help.

Summary: Sleek & Smooth 2008-10-30
Comment: Having been using it now for about a month and so far so good. Its definately very cool looking and has a low profile. It does feel a bit cheap, but what do you expect these days for a consumer product. Not sure how this would stack up in a "business environment". I hooked it up to my Verizon FiOS provided modem via a hardwired Cat5e cable that I have wired in my house. I got this router since I have 2 PCs in my home office and decided to spend a few dollars more to get a wireless router versus a simple switch. Range is not as good as I would have hoped, but I think its the layout of my house, since I never really had much luck connecting consistently to my FiOS modem via wireless. Set up was easy except I had to call tech support to help me navigate through changing the IP address in the router since I was connecting through to my FiOS modem. Was able to connect through quickly and got things resolved in a relatively quick manner, about 15 minutes. Linksys/Cisco tech support even called me back about 1 week later to see if there were any other issues.
