TRENDnet 85Mbps Powerline Fast Ethernet Adapter

I bought this product to use with my Dish Network ViP622 and ViP211 receivers that have builtin Powerline capabilty. I just connected one TRENDnet adapter by my Linksys router and followed the DISH directions online with each receiver to discover my local network. I didn't install the suppplied TRENDnet software since I was only using one adapter to handle both my Powerline receivers.

It worked PERFECT all in less than 10 minutes, thought I had to plug one receiver straight into an outlet, but the other connected fine going through a surge protector. In theory a no no since the data could get filtered as well. I guess that surge device wasn't filtering real well....

Product was shipped on time, works fine for connection to my TV. However, customer service for Trendnet is zero. The unit would not take the password supplied in the box and customer Trendnet service never responded to my inquiry. I just gave up.

I absolutely hate wireless. What good is a wireless connection that only works some of the time? I was so fed up with my LinkSys Wireless WRT54G router that I bought this to have a connection that works 100% of the time. OK, there was a minor problem with the installation. The first power outlet I used didn't connect. I moved it to another outlet and it synced-up almost immediately.

BTW: Good luck with LinkSys support. They are absolutely useless and they want you to pay to get their crappy equipment working. You won't have those problems with a powerline ethernet adapter. It works 100% of the time.
