I've had the TEW-659BRV for about 2 weeks now. It has a nice feature set, but every day it drops connections and loses computers on the LAN. I have to reboot the router to recover. Some kind of a routing problem I would guess. It seemed to be a little more frequent if I used the multiple SSID and DHCP reservation features. I bought this router because the Cisco RV-120 was poorly reviewed, but I don't think this one is any better. It is on it's original firmware however, so maybe there's hope in the future.

The static IP/DHCP reservation setting was a little strange in that it wouldn't let you set static IP's outside the DHCP range of addresses. You can work around that by temporarily widening the DHCP address range, reserving the static IP's, and then restoring the normal DHCP range.

The firewall can't be turned off as far as I can tell. That might have been nice since this is now just a standalone VPN server and wireless AP for me now. Only on my second day of...Read more
