I know several people have had problems with this modem, but I never have. One reviewer even said they fail after a year, but I have had mine for over 4 years now without any problems. The only problems I have had were my own fault by changing some of the settings and then having to re-setup the modem via Verizon's software. As for Verizon's support; it is not great, but not so bad either. They treat everyone like a moron, but I guess that is to be expect as 80% of people are not computer literate and they did fix my problem the one time I called them. Also, one should check if their ISP actually supports the modem before buying a third party DSL modem. I would never buy a used DSL modem though as you never know why that person is selling it. Calling your ISP and having them help reset the modem is the best bet for those having problems.

A year ago I got DSL service from ATT buying the modem from them, overpaying this item (I paid 50 bucks). They sent me a Westell 6100 that worked fine, until...... you guessed: it turned 13 month old, a month after warranty expiration. I was told by the ATT customer service guy these modems usually die after a year of use, then searched internet forums and all of them say so: it lasts a little bit more than a year. So, buy a different one or don't overpay, I would be OK if I had paid 10-15 dollars for it.

I was supplied this router by Cincinnati Bell about 5, maybe 6 years ago. I have NO PROBLEMS with this thing. I just purchased a wireless Netgear router to go wireless. I have two computers and a 3D TV hooked directly to the router and have a wireless laptop and an e-reader. I have great connection (always have), great connection speed (always have), and basically love this little modem. Cincinnati Bell recommends I use their wireless modem/router combo, but the reviews on the two they supply are pretty bad. I will keep this little modem and my new router and am sure I will continue to enjoy my trouble-free, easy set-up, great reception and connection lifestyle.
