Powerful router with business-class features,

For some of our smaller offices we use these Gigabit VPN routers together with NetGear Gigabit PoE switches like GS108P Netgear ProSafe GS108P Ethernet Switch or the newer or GS108PE and lots of Sharx Security cameras such as SCNC3606 Sharx Security SCNC3606 Cat5 PoE Wired Weatherproof Outdoor MPEG4 IP Network Camera with Infrared Night Vision and built in DVR, and some NetGear ReadyNAS NAS drives.
The graphical user interface on the FVS318N isn't the fastest. It may give the impression that the router itself has low performance, but it's just the menus that feel a bit slow. The router has very good performance and has been rock solid stable.

This was a horrible experience. My Internet connection was constantly lost, not just for the wireless, but the LAN connections as well! I switched to Linksys E4200.

I got two of the same router on the same day; been fighting them for a week; many wasted hours; 3 calls to cust service; customer svc decided only option is to replace product. I was told I could pay extra for quick exchange, otherwise takes a couple weeks. This is a brand new product; should work right out of the box. I should not have to be inconvenienced to replace (and I don't really think they are bad, just that the cust svc people don't know what is wrong). Ultimately, they told me to return the product and order new (which I am sure will have the same problem). I don't think they should be making their problem with their product, a problem for Amazon or their customers. It was a terrible experience, and I am going to look for other products to replace. People need to know that either this product is bad or Netgear cust svc people are bad; either way, stay away from Netgear.
