I bought this for regular home use. My old wireless router was starting to intermittently fail as more and more wireless devices got added to the home network, necessitating reboots, and I thought a more serious router would perform better than the cheap commodity home routers.

This unit has performed reliably in that regard---it has not hung up once in the couple of months or so it has been in service. It does the basic Wi-Fi and routing functions well.

But the product does have some rough edges. The administrative UI is a bit clunky. The product has some cool features---but I couldn't get all of them to work. In particular, it offers the ability to set access policies, allowing one, for example, to block access to a particular website at certain times of day for certain users (a potentially handy feature for families), but it looks it is going to take a firmware fix from Cisco to get that working as expected. The router also lets you set up to 4 separate...Read more

This router must be restarted 2-3 times every day on top of the 2-3 times each day it crashes and restarts itself. The issues with the router are related to Port Forwarding and are known by Cisco. Cisco has released firmware upgrades claiming the issues have been fixed but there's been no improvement in the routers stability. It's been a few months since we've purchased this router and we are now looking for an alternative as it's unusable. You would think Cisco would know how to make a router but after waiting months for a resolution and trying many firmware upgrades to get basic Port Forwarding to work on this router we've had to throw in the towel. If you need only basic routing then get a less expensive router. If you need more advanced features like Port Forwarding this router is not stable enough to get the job done.
